Summer is particularly bad for bouts of ‘the brown laser’, due to the terrifying dangers hidden inside the average barbecue.

Even ice cubes harbour risks – and most barbecue sausages are so deadly you might as well be passing around lit, fizzing sticks of dynamite.

Every year, a million of us get food poisoning, says the Food Standards Agency.

Thankfully, food safety experts have stepped in to ensure we can all eat without any fun danger whatsoever. Here’s some top tips.
